ABOUT
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and will make a convert of even the most virulent LA hater.I'm an analog person who still shoots film, buys records, and likes the feel of a book in my hands.
I spend most of my time thinking about what my next meal will be.
I got my first camera at 13 and haven't been without one since.
ABOUT THE SESSION
It is an honor to be invited into your life, and I strive to create a natural and spontaneous environment that is comfortable for everyone. Whether it's a family session at home or a hotel wedding with 200 guests, my approach is simple and photojournalistic: I shoot with natural light and avoid posed shots as much as possible. My wide array of cameras--film and digital, 35mm and medium format--allow me to create a custom package for you depending on your style and preference. Although I am based in LA, I love to travel and will happily come to you, wherever that may be!RATES
Please email me for current rates and packages. All packages include a private website for you to view images, order prints, and send links or slideshows to family and friends. You will also receive a CD of edited images. Additional package services including albums and prints are also available.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"I almost convinced my fiance that we should forgo any kind of professional photography at our nups. Ham and sentimental mush-pot that he is, he ultimately put his foot down and insisted that we have pictures taken, and I am now so grateful that he did--and even more grateful that the person to take them was you.
From the first time we sat down to plan, it was clear that you really cared about capturing the essence of what was important to us in the ceremony and the party--asking questions about what would be happening when, asking about the meanings of some of the more obscure rituals that we were including. I got the sense that this wasn't just so you'd know where to position yourself for the best shots, but also so that you could truly document what this wedding was about and what we were about as a couple.
And then in the taking of the pictures themselves, you did this incredible kind of dance--moving among various photog personas. One moment a little playful to make awkward, uncomfortable me come around to the camera. Then you'd become an invisible observer, snapping a picture I didn't even know you'd taken before reappearing the next moment to urge us to move slightly or to look at each other or to jump up in the air. These little pieces of direction weren't forceful or unnatural; they were just you knowing what would make an already lovely moment an even lovelier photograph.
What they say about one's wedding going impossibly quickly is true. I can't believe now that I ever considered the possibility of not recording this ridiculously glorious, but painfully ephemeral day. Your photographs are a little bit magical because they have this truthful journalistic quality to them, really documenting what happened, and yet they're gorgeous and artful. They make me cry and giggle every time I look at them. And they make me realize that, like my now hubs, I too am a ham and even more so, a totally sentimental mush-pot."
Katie, bride

I'm so thankful that we will have the moments of our wedding day captured forever so beautifully. I'm still astounded at how the photos capture the most beautiful images and emotions. I scroll through them often and am constantly in awe of your talent."
